Courses
REI offers many educational tracks for students to achieve their education, career and personal growth goals. Courses are available in English and Spanish.
College General Education Courses
REI partners with Santiago Canyon College and offers several general education (GE’s) classes that are transferrable for an Associate degree. They include Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Lifespan Psychology and Music Appreciation. Students are dual enrolled at Santiago Canyon College and all GE’s will transfer once completed.
Human Services for Certification Programs for Mental Health Workers and Drug Studies
Through our partnership with Saddleback College, we offer certification programs for students who wish to receive a Mental Health Worker certificate (29 units) or an Alcohol and Drug Studies (37 units) certificate and work with individuals with alcohol and drug addictions and families of chemically dependent persons. Students complete their certificates at REI and are dual enrolled at Saddleback College.
Peer Support Specialist Training
A 80-hour training program that will equip graduates with lived experience to find employment in the mental health services field in a peer mentor support capacity. Our on-site Employment Specialist will work with students to assist with the employment process during and upon completion of the training.
General Education Diploma (GED)
We offer Study Skills workshops focused on English, history, math and science to help students pass the GED exam.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Courses
These courses help improve student’s English language skills and enable them to maximize their potential by reaching their personal, educational, and vocational objectives. Introductory, intermediate and conversational classes are offered.
Personal Enrichment
Art, creative writing, card making, vision board and other classes are offered to explore creative outlets for wellness.
Professional Enrichment
Computer, job skill and workplace courses are provided to help students succeed once they enter the workforce or in their current jobs.
Mental Health Wellness
Workshops and classes are available to help students cope with mental illness, improve life skills, build healthy relationships and find additional resources in the community.
Student Leadership Opportunities
Students can join Student Government and develop leadership skills by helping organize on-campus events, participate in leadership workshops and manage other on-campus duties.
